My name is Shannon Gona-Anderson and I am a 31-year old single professional woman and a “mother” to 2 laugh-inducing fur babies!
I became a vegan on January 1, 2013 after having watched many documentaries and realizing that I don’t NEED animal products in my diet!
I began juicing fresh produce for 1 to 2 meals a day around mid-January and by the 3rd week in February my doctor was pleased to take me off my high blood pressure medication because I had lowered it naturally! (I had been diagnosed with high blood pressure approximately 1 ½ years prior.) Every time I see the doctor, he is beyond happy for me that I continue to have “perfect” blood pressure of 110/70 (actually a little low, but nothing to worry about)!
By mid-June I had stabilized my internal hormones enough to have my doctor suggest I do not refill the prescription for antidepressants. At the time of this writing, it has been 5 months with no antidepressants and I have had no noticeable side effects!
Among other items, this blog will be a place where I can come (and you too!) to view recipes and pictures of foods that I have made and enjoyed … and maybe some that don’t turn out so well!
